📊 Insights and Reports

Understanding where your money goes is crucial for managing your finances. Receiptr's Insights section provides visual reports and summaries based on your scanned receipts.

To access this section, tap the Insights icon in the main navigation bar (usually located at the bottom of the screen).

📈 Overview Dashboard

The main Insights screen gives you a quick overview of your spending. You'll see key metrics and charts summarizing your financial activity from your receipts.

Common elements you might see include:

  • Total Spending Summary: A card showing your total expenses over a selected period.
  • Receipt Count: The total number of receipts scanned within the selected criteria.
  • Average Spending: Your average spending per receipt.

📊 Spending Charts

Visual charts help you see patterns in your spending. Receiptr provides different types of charts to give you clear insights.

📈 Spending Over Time

This chart shows how your spending has changed over a specific period (e.g., monthly, daily). It helps you identify trends and peaks in your expenses.

🥧 Spending by Category

A chart (often a pie chart or bar chart) illustrating how your total spending is distributed across different categories (Grocery, Restaurant, Fuel, etc.). This helps you see which areas you spend on the most.

🔽 Filtering Insights

Just like the Receipts list, you can filter your insights and reports to focus on specific data. This allows you to analyze spending for a particular account, category, or date range.

  1. Tap the Filter icon at the top of the Insights screen.
  2. Select your desired filters (e.g., choose an account, select categories, set a date range).
  3. Tap Apply Filters.

The charts and summaries will update to reflect only the data that matches your filters.

📤 Exporting Reports (Coming soon...)

For more detailed analysis or record-keeping, you can export your receipt data.

Depending on your plan, you may have options to export in different formats:

  • PDF Export: Generate a PDF document of your receipts (potentially a summary or individual receipts).
  • CSV/Excel Export: Export your receipt data in a structured format suitable for spreadsheets.
Plan Feature

Some export options may be available only on Premium or Unlimited plans. Check the 💎 Plans and Subscriptions section for details.

To export:

  1. Go to the Settings or Insights section (the location of the export option may vary).
  2. Look for an Export option and tap on it.
  3. Choose the format and date range for your report.
  4. Tap Export.

The app will generate the file and may provide options to share or save it to your device.
